![]() The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Baptist Home for lovingly caring for Oletta for three years in assisted living and the past few months in skilled nursing, and also to Hospice the last few days. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Sunday prior to services at the church. The service will be broadcast to the parking lot for those who choose to listen from their cars on FM 90.3. Mask and social distancing will be required in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Oletta is survived by her brother Irland Brown of Hendersonville daughter, Elaine Ross and husband Bill of Hillsborough granddaughter, Laura Garrett and husband Michael of Bahama grandson, Charles Ross and wife Sarah of Hillsborough and her five great granddaughters who always brought a smile to her face, Gracie, Maggie, Ella, Kinsey and Miller.įuneral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, Octoat Mountain View Baptist Church, with Rev. She was the oldest living member of MountainView Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member of the choir and was a member of the ladies Sunday School Class. She was formerly employed with Three Mountaineer and retired from Square D following over 20 years of service. They were happily married for 53 years, when he passed away in May 1999. Oletta married Embler Sluder on Decemsoon after he returned from serving in the US Army in WWII. She was also preceded in death by her husband Embler, her son Dale and her siblings, Junie Gibson, Jewel Debruhl, JV Brown, Virginia Parham and Stella Sluder. Oletta was born Octoin Buncombe County, to the late Ulus Brown and Blanche White Brown. Alexander - Oletta Eula Brown Sluder of Alexander passed away on Thursday, Octoat the WNC Baptist Home just two days before her 95th birthday. ![]()
